EMMA GREENWOOD: CRAFT CUBED ARTIST IN RESIDENCE
Melbourne sneaker-freaker and leather worker Emma Greenwood has carved herself out a unique space in the world of shoemaking. Her brilliantly off beat handmade kicks reference everything from Victorian needlepoint to hip hop culture and her spectacular shoes have won awards, been exhibited around Australia and have featured in numerous publications both here and overseas.
We are thrilled to present Emma as Handmadelife’s first official Artist in Residence!
Over the month of August Emma will be working in the light filled HANDMADELIFE studio at QVM, making a super fly, one-off pair of high-end high tops from start to finish. Watch the magic happen as she transforms flat hides into fully formed footwear while tapping into her highland heritage and using tartan as a key design element. She'll be showcasing her mad skills and hide wrangling techniques every Thursday, Friday and Saturday AND hosting two workshops especially designed for crafty peeps looking to learn more about working with leather.
