Indigo Dyeing and Shibori

In this fun, informative workshop we'll teach you everything you need to know to get you hand dyeing like a pro. Learn the basics of natural indigo vat dyeing and traditional Shibori techniques including tying, wrapping and clamping to create beautiful patterns on cloth.

Experiment with a variety of techniques to create fabric samples, and refine your designs to make a beautiful silk scarf, whip up  cool socks and produce a pair of pillowcases to dress your bed in style!

Students are welcome to bring additional light coloured fabric (cotton/silk/linen) or small items (hanky/tea-towel/t-shirt) for experimenting on the day. Enthusiastic crafters can also purchase additional pillowcases/scarves upon booking or during the workshop.

All supplies and a delicious morning tea included, and participants will also receive a copy of the Indigo Chapter from our book The Craft Companion. BONUS

Class is limited to 8 students (16 years and over), no experience necessary.
